“I HAVE THIS POWER!” – Municipal Youth Activator (MAM) is a micro-grant program thanks to which young people aged 10 to 30 can obtain financing from PLN 500 to PLN 5,000 for social and civic action projects in the City of Lublin. This year’s program operator is the “Ulica Krótka” Association.

If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved in the life of the city, create a project for your peers in Lublin or the local community, Municipal Youth Activator is a proposition for you. Under the city’s grant program for people aged 10-30, they can receive from PLN 500 to PLN 5,000 for a social or civic project.

What projects can be implemented under MAM?

Social and civic projects can be implemented as part of the Municipal Youth Activator.
Activities may be reported that aim to:
introducing a specific change in the environment, implemented with people, assuming cooperation and involvement – social projects,
increasing people’s involvement in public life – civic projects.
In 2023, projects such as:
Bicycle Maneuvering Square – planning and creating a bicycle maneuvering square at Primary School No. 45;
Seeing and hearing others – workshops enabling a look at the world from the perspective of a blind and deaf person,
Polish-Ukrainian intergenerational festival – an event whose main goal was the intercultural integration of the Polish and Ukrainian communities through workshops, games and a visit to the Lublin open-air museum.

Who can get financing?
Groups of at least 3 young people aged 10 to 30 can submit their projects. Each person in the group must live, study, study or work in Lublin.

When can projects be implemented?
Projects can be implemented from June 17 to November 30.

What can microgrant funds be used for?
The expenses that the group implementing the project incurs must be:
– necessary for the implementation of the project;
– effective and rational;
– incurred within the period specified in these cooperation rules, i.e. from the date of signing the agreement to the date specified by the Program Operator (expenditures incurred by the project initiator beyond the indicated date will not be taken into account);
properly documented.

Amount of funding under the Municipal Youth Activator
The following grants are expected to be awarded:
✔ 4 micro-grants worth PLN 500.00 each;
✔ 8 grants worth PLN 1,000.00 each;
✔ 10 grants worth PLN 2,000.00 each;
✔ 4 grants worth PLN 5,000.00 each.

What costs can you include in your project?
These include, for example: fees for substantive activities and project management for technical staff, instructors conducting workshops, creators, artists, presenters, animators; purchase of materials necessary to implement the project; costs of renting space for the needs of the project; rental of technical infrastructure and service for the needs of the project; project promotion costs; costs of transporting materials and equipment (impossibility to settle invoices for gasoline).
Costs under the project may be settled only on the basis of invoices, pro-forma invoices and receipts with Tax Identification Number.
In justified cases, the Association may consent to the settlement of personnel costs based on a contract for specific work/commission.

What projects cannot be implemented under MAM?
Projects that, in particular:
– involve the purchase and consumption of alcohol and other harmful substances;
– may have a negative impact on the health and life of participants;
– may lead to exclusion or discrimination and deny fundamental freedoms and human rights;
– assume activities of a political or religious nature;
– are commercial in nature.

MAM will not finance activities that, in the opinion of the committee, qualify for funding under other programs implemented by the Lublin City Hall, e.g. Youth Inspires Districts, School Participatory Budget, Creative Spaces or scholarship programs.
Examples:
– if you want to release a CD, organize an opening or a concert, use funding from scholarship programs, e.g. a scholarship for the implementation of a youth project in the field of artistic creation or the promotion of culture, or from the Youth Inspires Districts program;
– if you want to create a creative space in your school to integrate students, use the program: Creative Spaces or School Participatory Budget;
– if you want to implement an activity addressed only to people studying at your school, use the School Participatory Budget program.

What responsibilities will each informal youth group have?
Each youth group should appoint a leader who will be in constant contact with the Operator on all issues related to the implementation of the project. If the leader is not an adult, the group is obliged to appoint an additional guardian – an adult who will take legal responsibility for the implementation of the project.
The group implementing its project is obliged to use the indicated graphic symbols on all materials promoting the project.
Group members agree to the recording of the project (photo, audio, video) by persons authorized by the Operator and the Lublin City Hall, as well as any and unlimited use of the recorded materials for MAM’s promotional and organizational purposes.
After completing the project (up to 14 days), the group implementing the project is obliged to prepare (according to the template) a report on its implementation, which should be accompanied by all materials documenting its progress, e.g. photographs.
The project implementers are fully responsible for any damage incurred in connection with the implementation of the project.

The form must provide the group data required by the Operator and briefly describe:
– informal group,
– project goal,
– planned activities,
– worries,
– needs of the group implementing the project.

What happens when I submit an application for a microgrant?
We will inform you about the recruitment results by e-mail on June 6, 2024. The full list of projects that have received financing will also be published on the websites www.ulicakrotka.com and www.lublin.eu.
As a group implementing the project as part of the Municipal Youth Activator:
– you will receive constant support from an animator from the “Ulica Krótka” Association, who will support your activities and provide advice in case of problems,
– you will take part in 2 free training courses to support your design activities and personal development,
– you will take part in networking meetings, during which you will meet great people working on other projects and exchange your experiences.
